Witches of East End 2×11 ‘Poe Way Out’: Damnit Killian

This week’s episode started out with a huge bomb drop. Joanna has killed Freya before. With good reason of course, but that’s still pretty huge! Freya apparently dated Edgar Allen Poe, and wouldn’t you know it…it was Killian. He was an actually pretty good Edgar Allen Poe. Who knew the guy was so temperamental. Freya made the mistake of telling Poe that she was a witch, which we all know is the number one cardinal rule of being a witch. “Don’t talk about witch club.” It will only cause problems and put the mortals in danger. Well, that was an understatement. Freya wanted to help Poe with his writer’s block, so she decided to do a séance. That really didn’t go well, because she summoned a demon by the name of Ambrose Bancroft, I believe. Interesting. A failed attempt from Poe decided to make her come back for about two seconds, and from then on, this demon was unstoppable killing people left and right.

Joanna was right to kill Freya. But that also means that Ingrid wasted a life, and from what I could tell, it was one of the few lives of Ingrid where she was actually making good choices. Wasted. 1848 Freya was a spicy little one. Attitudes and hair flips flying EVERYWHERE. I’m not sure i liked it very much. It seems like Freya and Poe didn’t have the same chemistry that 2014 Freya and Killian have. Did they do that on purpose? But honestly, can we talk about KIllian’s accent and hair as Poe? Fantastic. I laughed for about 5 minutes straight. Freya as the demon, Ambrose Bancroft was Queso Fundido style cheesy. It didn’t play over well. Dewan-Tatum does not do evil well. I could not take her seriously this entire episode.

Joanna had to go back in time in the first place because she needed a tool to kill her father for good. And she remembers her future self visiting her past, and this is finally the right moment.

On the other side of the spectrum, in 2014, we all thought Ingrid was going to make another wrong choice and choose to side with Grandaddy, but no, we were pleasantly surprised that she is acting to get him to trust her. Loving her right now. Will the grandfather dying, break their curses? Will it be like the finale of season 1? I’m still not sure about Frederick. I honestly think Frederick is really trying to help Joanna, he’s just trying to not get himself killed.

The grandfather need a fresh heart to figure out what Joanna was doing, and this will be the most random thing I’ve ever said but the girl he took the heart from, looked and acted just like Rachel Berry from Glee. Anyways.

Dash and his cop friends-with-benefits is beginning to make me nervous. To be honest, I have no idea what I want for Dash. He obviously has an evil streak and I’m thinking he needs to be stopped, but I don’t want him to go to jail! Even though, what he did to Killian to get himself in that situation still makes me angry. Is it obvious, I favor Killian? Ignore me. The cop totally knows more than she is letting on, and I’m not sure its legal, the way she is acquiring her evidence. But this is television, and for the most part, anything goes.

Dash took some teeth out of a horrible dismembered body. It made me nauseous. I’m guessing to have the M.E. get different DNA results from the body. Covering his tracks. Smart.

Has anyone ever noticed that during TV sex scenes, the girl is always wearing underwear and nothing else? Like, did she really go through the trouble of just putting underwear back on? Or did they move around the panties? I get that it’s from censorship, but it’s ridiculous.

And as for Killian, I am upset. They are taking this in some kind of Romeo and Juliet route and I am not okay with it. I can’t believe Killian doesn’t know the girls are alive. I feel like his been in Eva’s familys house forever. Is it just me? Toward the end of the episode, he ignored Dash’s call, which was to tell him that Freya was alive. And drank that poison, that will kill him. Wonderful. Just Wonderful, but hey, at least in their next life, they wont have a curse. Too bad, grandaddy is about to die and he curse is going with it. So, will they ever end up together? Killian is obviously not dying. He can’t. Joanna or somebody will do the “sana sana sana” heal spell or whatever it is they do so well, and save him….again. This is like the 4th time this season, Killian has been in danger of dying. Aren’t you tired yet!?
