The Fosters 2×09 “Leaky Faucets”: Leaky pipes.

The Fosters is back in full swing this week after last week’s detour to ‘Girls United.’ Everybody seems to have his or her own demon to be fighting and most of it seems to be going on at the Mexican street fair; which seems to be the best place to be that day.

Ever since Callie and Wyatt tried to have sex Callie has been suffering from panic attacks so she’s decided to have therapy. Callie’s therapist suggests that Callie is suffering from this anxiety due to the lack of trust in her own judgment because if she trusted Liam and he did what he did – what is to stop Wyatt from doing the same. Callie says she trusts Wyatt but maybe deep down she has her concerns – Wyatt is perfect for Callie in my opinion and I’m glad she calls him and invites him out to the Mexican street fair that everybody seems to be attending.

Also at this street fair are Brandon and Lou; Brandon thinks that they’re for the music but Lou has other things in mind and she tries really hard to get her flirt on but Brandon is so unresponsive. In the end he whacks out the whole ‘it’s me not you I promise’ line and she surprisingly takes it well and they just carry on as friends – don’t give up Lou, don’t give up.

Meanwhile Wyatt and Callie are getting their flirt through an eating competition – my two favourite things (flirting and food). They go around the fair eating on thing from every stall and whilst Wyatt is in line for the next round he spots Liam! On his pursuit Wyatt bumps into Brandon who is against the idea of making Liam leave and instead suggests they take Callie and go. Wyatt wanting to do well by Callie feels as if it should be Liam who leaves. Once Wyatt catches up with Liam he asks him to leave only to be taunted by Liam who badmouths Callie, which leaves him with a punch to the face! Although violence isn’t the right way to go about things I felt content watching Wyatt and Brandon working together for Callie (even though she wasn’t happy about it).

In the end security gets involved and breaks things up leaving Wyatt to deal with Callie who is mad because that isn’t the protection she needs, she wanted Wyatt to stay by her side the whole time because he knows how she feels around crowded places. Whilst I understand where Callie is coming from I also know that Wyatt’s intentions were good – I hope they can get through this!

Next up we have Mat and Mariana who have decided to attend the fair. Sadly Mariana feels as if Mat has taken her there due to her Latina roots when in actual fact its because he really likes the street fair and he thought she would. Unfortunately due to Mariana’s annoyance the date wasn’t going all that well until Mat decides to confront Mariana about what is wrong. I’m glad Mat doesn’t beat around the bush and he asks Mariana things right away because that is what she needs – she feels disconnected from her Latina roots and she then goes to explain why she even hates it: her biological mother – Ana. Loving Mat explains to Mariana about his father who just upped and left and he explains that if he could have the chance to hear his dad apologies he would and then they dance together and its perfect!

It just so happens that Ana and Mike are also at the fair and they bump into Mariana and Ana asks if she can see them again to apologies for all she has done. Understandably, Mariana lashes out and refuses to speak to Ana because she can’t deal with more lies. However after Mat’s speech she decides she wants to see Ana and she lets Stef know that she wants to see Ana. Stef looks shocked but from the last couple of episodes I think she knows it’s the right thing to do.

My favourite scene from this episode has got to be Stef’s DIY scene. Not only was her sexy home video hilarious to watch it was nice to see that side of Stef. The scene became even more powerful with the leaky pipes being used as a metaphor for Stef’s sadness, which she’s always trying to hold in. In the end the pipe bursts and so does Stef – she had to cry, she had to mourn and she had to break down – and she realises after as she speaks to Callie, that that’s okay!

Breaking news – Jesus got a tattoo of Hayley’s name to show her how much he cares – can you tell with how done I am with their storyline, relationship and everything else!

Only one episode left before summer and I wander what’ll go down!
