The Bachelorette 10×08 ‘Week 8’: Hometown dates

Source: ABC

What a week!  Andi went to visit all four boys and their families — Josh in Tampa, Chris in Iowa, Nick in Milwaukee and Marcus in Dallas — plus, they received the sad news of Eric Hill’s death.

I would say that Chris’ family was definitely the most welcoming and loving towards Andi, and the most excited about her being there.  I’m from a small town myself and that’s definitely Midwest hospitality for you.  There aren’t as many people around, so you care very much about the people that you do get to meet.  However, Andi was uncertain about what she would do for work, which is a very valid question.  They did

mention a nearby town, but who knows how easy it would be to get a job in law there.

The other men came with their own complications.  Josh’s family seemed more into his brother’s life than Josh, Marcus was a lot more into Andi than she was into him, and we all know how shady Nick is — plus, his family is massive (I’d be overwhelmed).  In the end, though, Andi chose to keep Josh, Chris and Nick.  I’m a little sad that my two favorites, Marquel and Marcus, have now been booted — but if I were to choose between the final three standing, I would pick Chris.  Even though he lives in the middle of nowhere, they could always travel and visit bigger cities, and it sounds as if Andi is ready to settle down and start having kids

anyway.  It would be the perfect place to raise a family.  Chris just seems the most genuine and kind, and he would really take care of her.  I don’t trust Nick, and Josh is just too macho for me (though it was nice to see some tears from the guy).

It was hard hearing the news of Eric (for the audience, it was our second time) but I give props to the producers for giving the subject ample airtime and allowing the contestants to show their feelings.  I was glad they didn’t cut any of that out and the camera crew even set down their equipment to comfort everyone.

As aforementioned, spoilers have been floating around the interwebz since week one, but I’m still interested in seeing what next week brings.  What about you?
