Supernatural 9×23 ‘Do You Believe in Miracles’ : “The more you kill, the better you feel…”

Source : The CW

Oh how I love a season finale of Supernatural!  “Carry on My Wayward Son” starts playing and I just get all excited!  I reminisce about the years and how much I love that song and GISHWHES and just…geeking out like a fangirl!  This season, though, I felt like I could’ve gotten all I needed to know from the intro.  I was watching and really felt like I didn’t have to watch the whole season to get it.  Although, it was nice to see some of the episodes I loved, like the one featuring Kavan Smith.  Anyway, enough nostalgia, let’s get to that cliffhanger!

Dean has the Mark of Cain and needs to kill, specifically Metatron, but also just about anything…so Sam locks him up.  So Dean summons Crowley, they hit the road.  Meanwhile Sam and Castiel and Gadreel are also trying to find Metatron and the Angel Tablet.  Everyone just wants to take down Metatron, ok?  Eventually Castiel does break the Angel Tablet but not before Metatron manages to kill Dean in a fight.  I guess that First Blade wasn’t quite enough to get the job done on an angel.  Sam is super upset, obviously, and he’s about to summon Crowley…but Crowley is already with Dean.  AND THEN…!!??

Clearly you know what happens, because we both watched this, right?  If not, go away now and watch it.  I don’t want anyone whining about spoilers.

This whole episode was more of the same boringness to me.  I’m SUPER MAD that Metatron is in angel jail and not dead.  Still, some questions are unanswered.  Is heaven open now?  Have the angels stopped all their warring on Earth and inhabiting humans?  Are the angels going to continue to fight in heaven?  What is going on with Castiel’s grace?  It seems to me that the angel situation is not resolved.  As much as I want it to be resolved, I’m also kind of not mad that Metatron lives, because the actor who plays Metatron, Curtis Armstrong, is awesome.  When I watch him, I’m completely reminded of his character in “Revenge of the Nerds“.  So yeah, I’d be ok with Metatron making some appearances next season.  He can be one of those tertiary characters that comes around sometimes.  But I’m kind of hoping this angel thing doesn’t drag on.

As for everything else..there’s really only one thing : Dean is a demon.  Umm… HELL YESSSS!!!  I’m so excited about this.  I mean, at first, I figured there would be a deal made or Cas would come down and heal him and BORING.  But now, knowing that the Mark of Cain has made him a demon and his desire to kill brought him back as a demon…or was it him giving it up that made him a demon?  Not sure, just happy about this.  Like, now I’m totally looking forward to next season.  I have no idea where this will go, but I’m definitely excited about it.  (I’m pretty sure the fandom disagrees, though.)

And what about you?  Did you want Metatron dead?  Do you think the angel story line will continue into next season?  Are you made Dean is a demon?  Let me know in the comments!
