Every person that appears on our screen is always oddly suspicious. Most of the time this is either cleverly done to throw us off course (a red herring) or they are acting sketchy for an unrelated reason. Noel Kahn however, does appear to be involved in the A shenanigans. The girls have caught him red handed, if you will.
However, I would like to point out that all we really know so far is that Noel was in the Dollhouse aiding Charlotte. Whether he was doing this of his own free will or he was being manipulated or controlled somehow we are not sure. This also does not mean he has anything to do with A.D. If Jenna was a friend of Charlotte perhaps Noel was as well. Perhaps the reason he has Sara’s phone was because he is afraid of the person Sara was warning Emily against, perhaps that is the same person who killed Sara Harvey. This show has trained me not to accept anything I see as pure fact. We must question everything, because most of the time nothing is as it seems. So I am not ready to fully accept Noel as a big player in A’s game. It makes more sense that there will be a twist as to his involvement. Either he is being controlled or blackmailed, or he’s just covering his butt after having helped Charlotte all those years ago. Perhaps Hanna will be able to get it out of him. You know she has something planned with that rope and duct tape. Hopefully her PTSD and anger wont get in the way of her getting an actual confession out of him. Also it would suck it the pipe she bashed him in the head with cause brain damage. She probably won’t be able to get anything out of him. One thing I am curious about is, what’s with the eye insignia. Emily told Spencer that she had seen that stamp on Maya’s hand years ago. Spencer says it’s what got her into one of the Kahn parties. What does it mean? I’m sure it is connected somehow, otherwise why would it have been brought up?
While Hanna is stalking Noel and Spencer and Emily are ransacking his cabin, Aria is searching for the birth records of Mary’s second child, trying to prove it is indeed Noel. She teams up with Jason since he will probably have better luck getting the confidential information out of a government official since he is at least a relative of the kid in question. The team works well together, Aria being able to sweet talk the clerk with her concern and care for Jason. The clerk even mistakes them to be engaged, spotting the ring on Aria’s finger. I don’t think Jason minded too much. Which brings into question what happened in the five years since we last saw Aria and Jason? We know that Jason was always a little interested, shall we say, in Aria. Turns out that the two got a little bit closer than just being acquaintances. To the point where Jason was bringing her coffee in bed, half naked, asking her to come to Ethiopia with him. But Aria has only ever had eyes for Ezra Fitz, and so she takes a job at his publishing agency in the hopes that she will bump into him one day and rekindle their love affair. Seems to have worked out pretty well for her, except for that whole Nicole bump at the end there. Which seems to not be a problem anymore. Poor Nicole was not one of the hostages rescued from the compound in Colombia. But then who made the call from Nicole’s phone? And will Ezra and Aria be able to just move on, back to planning a wedding after all of this?
What I find most interesting out of the Jaria development is that we really don’t know what the girls have been up to for the past 5 years. Every episode or so it appears that we learn a little bit more about their past. Could it be that Aria, or one of the other liars, has been converted to the A team in that time? I still really love the idea of one of the girls being one of the bad guys. As much as it would suck because it means they have betrayed their friends and it would mean one of them would be a bad person. It would be so great story wise. If they can pull it off well and tie it in properly it would definitely be a shocking ending and a crazy twist. But so far it doesn’t appear that anything is overtly pointing towards that being a possibility. But hey, stranger things have happened on this show.
