The mystery of Sarah Harvey’s hotel room has been revealed! The reason she won’t let anyone in is to hide her enormous collection of leather gloves. Oh and the giant gaping hole in her closet that leads into the depths of the old sanitarium.
Sarah has had a do not disturb sign on her door, prohibiting everyone from entering her hotel room, since she checked in. The girls were already suspicious of creepy Harvey but add the picture of murder club in front of the hotel carpet and Sarah’s adamancy that no one enter her room and Spencer and Aria are certain that they can find the murder weapon behind her locked door. They suppose that once they do find it then they will be in control and would be able to go to the police. Girls, you are walking down the same path as before, making the same mistakes. Anything you keep from the police just makes you look more suspicious and A or the Red Devil or the Evil Emoji (as I shall now refer to them) will use it to their advantage. But Team Sparia is determined to gain the upper hand so they decide to break in to Sarah’s hotel room. Spencer uses those long legs to step from one balcony to the other while Aria wishes Spencer could “throw [her] like a Frisbee”. Spencer replies with my favorite line of the episode “you can do it little big one.” Just a side note to point out why I liked this line so much, not only is it silly and adorable, like most friends are with each other, but it calls back to a previous line in a previous season where Spencer tells Aria “you’re little, but you’re big.” It’s like Sparia’s own little inside joke even 5 years later.
Anyways once the girls make it inside the room they discover that Sarah has decided that just because she has to wear gloves every day doesn’t mean that she can’t still accessorize! I don’t know why she needs to store them on fake hands other than just to be creepy, however one glove houses not a hand but a blueprint of the old Radley Sanitarium as well as a print of the new Radley Hotel. Looks like Sarah has been staying in the room that was converted from Charlotte’s old room. What reason could she have for keeping herself looked inside Charlotte’s old hospital room? Is she trying to learn more about her dead friend like she told Alison? Or are there other more sinister means behind the room choice and the giant gaping hole the girls find in Sarah’s closet. Ashley is not going to be happy about Sarah busting holes all up in her brand new hotel! The hole in the wall seems to have opened into some sort of passage that leads down into the depths of the hotel. We assume that Aria has already descended into the mysterious darkness or perhaps someone found her and dragged her down.
Hanna is still the only one that knows about Emily’s upcoming procedure. So Emily has told her mother that she will be bunking with Hanna as they discuss bridesmaid dresses, but really Hanna is taking off for New York while Emily goes it alone. Luckily Alison shows up to apologize for how she has been treating the girls recently and Emily inadvertently tells her. Alison really does seem to be sorry and to want to make it up to the girls. After all, she was grieving the loss of the sister she had not only just gotten to know but had just gotten back, it is understandable to think that she would have some trouble and might try to cope with that by pushing people away. Perhaps Alison isn’t the Evil Emoji after all. She stays by Emily’s side the whole time, even waiting until Emily wakes up from the anesthesia. Which isn’t a pretty sight. Emily, still dazed, wakes to find Sarah Harvey injecting her IV with some unknown substance and when Emily tries to pull it out Sarah pins her arms against the bed to stop her. Alison explains to Emily that it was all a dream, a vivid hallucination brought on by the drugs still in her system. But are we so sure of that? Remember all those times Emily thought she saw Alison, but couldn’t have because Alsion was dead? Well those all turned out to be true. Perhaps there was someone there, maybe it wasn’t Sarah, but it could have been the real Evil Emoji. The last scene showed the Emoji with blue medical gloves on their hands, the same type that ‘dream’ Sarah was wearing as she injected Emily. Perhaps there was some truth in that hallucination. But things get even worse for Emily. Her eggs are no longer going to the planned family, and have now been stolen by our new masked villain. She gets a carton of eggs delivered to her door saying ‘give me the killer or I’ll use your eggs’. Now I think Em has bigger problems than her finances.
Haleb is back! Well they are working together again. Hanna is certain that her mom has stolen the backup security drive, which she is correct about, however she can’t find her mom’s hiding spot. So since she can’t give the real drive to the Emoji she goes to Caleb to get a fake out drive. This turns out to be the best idea ever! Emoji is completely fooled and plugs the drive into their laptop releasing the virus Caleb had implanted into it. Caleb and Spencer had discussed earlier that them finding the trashcan of black hoodies and gloves makes them feel like the rules have changed and so Caleb decides this means he’s going to go on the offensive and mess some stuff up! I can’t wait to see what other things have changed in this new alternate PLL universe. So far I am enjoying it greatly.
