Pretty Little Liars 6×08 ‘FrAmed’ The return of Red Coat

The cat is out of the bag, the News stations are reporting the new suspect Charles DiLaurentis. With his name in the news and the girls hot on his heels Charles must be sweating. Hannah and Spencer may have finally tracked him down. Have we seen the face of Charles?

Hannah and Spencer decide to use Hannah’s scholarship money as a way to infiltrate the Carasimmi Group in search of some clue to lead them to Charles. Instead they may have stumbled upon Charles himself. The man that meets with them is named Rhys Matthews but he has the unmistakable traits of a DiLaurentis. That perfect blonde hair and piercing blue eyes could belong to no other family. Even Emily agrees when she thinks the picture that Hannah secretly snapped is one of Jason. The resemblance is uncanny. It seems a little anti climactic if the first time we see the face of Charles is in such a normal way. I want it to be along the same lines as Toby’s big reveal. The hooded figure turns around and we finally get to see their face. Every episode we see A but only a gloved hand or a hooded head, it was so gratifying to finally see a face within the hood, even when it was Toby.

Speaking of disguises, guess who’s back in town? Whether they were out of Rosewood or just laying low, Red Coat has finally popped back up. I hadn’t realized that I had completely forgotten about them until I saw them stroll into the room and plop down next to A. You know something big is about to happen if the villains are coming together. Nothing good comes from hooded cahoots. And considering that they are camped out in front of a monitor showing the security camera of the gallery where Aria’s work will be revealed, we know that it is probably a good thing Tanner has lined the place with cops. Clearly something big is going down at the opening.

Looks like A has a bit of a creative side. They have framed and hung pictures of the Liar’s drugged and on the metal slab inside the dollhouse. It’s a really creepy image, but I actually like the pictures; the message that comes with it not so much. The work is titled ‘Stolen Dolls’ which could either refer to A stealing them or the fact that they were stolen from him. A has also posted a note underneath the prints. It appears that the note is meant for Lieutenant Tanner since it is written in Spanish. She translates it’s meaning as either ‘ They are pretty’ or ‘They are Lindas’, referring to her first name. Is anyone else thinking Lieutenant Tanner is looking suspicious lately? Or is it that with the summer finale fast approaching the writers are making everyone look suspicious. Maybe I’m just paranoid. I even jumped back to my Aria paranoia when she wouldn’t let Emily sneak a peek at her prom dress. I had a crazy theory that the garment bag was full of dark hoodies, or a red coat.

After the gallery unveiling Spencer, Emily and Hannah are ready to get the heck out of there. But on their way to the car they spot Rhys Matthews (what a coincidence) sitting in his car outside of the venue. So naturally they follow him without telling anyone where they are going, because that worked out so well the last time they did it. Thankfully they have enough sense not to follow Rhys into the abandoned doll factory (SUSPICIOUS). There are way too many dolls this season. Why is everything about dolls? Dolls are creepy!

Clark was acting sketchy all episode. He was asking way too many questions when he was having coffee with Aria at the Brew. He was the one to convince Aria to come to the show at the gallery. Was it to make sure that the Liar’s were there to view A’s work of art. Then he had trouble answering Aria’s questions about his parents, and even slipped up saying that he had never experienced an unveiling before but Aria had seen in is transcript that he had won an award for his work. Clearly Clark has some explaining to do, especially why he was rendezvousing with Rhys in an abandon doll factory (SUSPICIOUS).

It’s not a coincidence that we see Clark and Rhys paired up together in the same episode that we see A and Red Coat together. The show is trying to draw a parallel between the two pairs. I would say that it is trying to suggest that Rhys and Clark ARE A and Red Coat, but I don’t think Clark would look too good in that red ensemble. Now I can’t stop imagining Clark walking around wearing the Red Coat. Not very plausible because I don’t think that would be very conspicuous.  Are Rhys and Clark in cahoots? Are they secret lovers that have a doll fetish? Were they both texted by A to meet at the doll factory as a setup? Are they the ones being frAmed? Or does the title of the episode just refer to the pictures on the wall? When will the questions end?
