Pretty Little Liars 6×03 ‘Songs of Experience’ Everyone is working with A

Today is the day the girls are going back to school. It’s not really a surprise that they don’t all make it. Nothing is ever simple or easy in Rosewood. Especially when your friend’s brother’s evil twin tries to kidnap you and keep you in a living Dollhouse.

Even after the girls play broken telephone, to psych themselves up for their reentry into society, Hannah is the only one to actually make it to school. I don’t know where they get the time for all of this chatting. My morning consists of me rolling out of bed, chugging some coffee and throwing my hair up into a semi-presentable bun. How do they have time to get made up all gorgeous and have separate phone calls with each of their friends? And thinking of it now why didn’t they just have a group chat? Maybe just to make the opening shot that much more cool looking.

Each girl ends up ditching school; Aria ends up at the Brew with Fitz. She just can’t bear to go back yet so Ezra feeds her and checks in with her as she stumbles upon a picture she took of Andrew. Does your ex boyfriend/ current friend friend know that Andrew/Charles was your current boyfriend? That could be an awkward conversation. Instead of having that the two opt to impersonate an officer and try to dig into Andrew’s past. Although Fitz’s superb portrayal of Officer Mervin does not get him a conversation, they do find out that Andrew’s birthdate and place are sealed in his adoption paperwork. This is interesting. Is the storyline leading us to the conclusion we already made weeks ago, that Andrew is Jason and Allison’s brother who was adopted by the Campbells for some unknown reason?

To me it seems too predictable. I would expect better from the show by now because to suggest that Andrew is Charles and that Charles is a DiLaurentis and show us pictures of little Jason and another little blonde boy is a little obvious. Perhaps the real surprise will be that although Andrew is Charles and Charles was the masked man in the Dollhouse he is not the one pulling the puppet strings. The main theory I have been seeing over the past few weeks is that Aria is the big A. I have got to say that although I am not completely sold on the idea, I do think it would be brilliant and it has made me watch her much more closely. Andrew seemed genuinely upset when the girls bumped into him outside of the police station. This could be for various reasons. Maybe he really is innocent and he was looking for Aria this whole time because he has feelings for her. Or it could all just be for show. Maybe him and Aria are working together and they set up this spectacle for some other manipulative reason. It could also be that Aria promised Andrew things if he helped her with her dastardly deeds, maybe one of those things was that he wouldn’t get caught or get in trouble and here she is screaming to anyone who will listen that it was Andrew Campbell.

Aria’s ex (I’m assuming they are no longer an item since she thinks he kidnapped her) is the main person of suspicion on the show at the moment but the person I am most curious about is Emily’s possible future girlfriend. Sarah is still at the Fields residence and she seems to be making herself right at home, showering, wearing Emily’s clothes, sleeping in Emily’s bed. I can’t help but think this traumatized post traumatic shock is just an act to get in close with Emily and perhaps further A’s agenda. Sarah Harvey could just be a traumatized girl who has a bad home life and has sought security with Emily and her mother. But she just seems to know just the right horrible and sad thing to do or say at the right time to elicit sympathy from Emily and her mom.

When Emily is about to go to school Sarah asks about a news story she heard about herself, calling her ‘feral’. Emily responds that she is really just a lost puppy who needs a little cleaning up. As she reaches out to playfully touch Sarah’s hair the girl leaps up as if she is afraid Emily is going to hurt her. She starts rambling about not wanting Emily’s mom to be mad that she’s there and that she should leave. Of course Emily decides to stay home from school to take care of her new puppy, and to make French toast because ‘there is French toast to be made’. Now I know what you are going to say, but Shea, poor Sarah was kidnapped and held captive in that horrible place for 2 years, she is just traumatized and socially awkward due to being kept in a hole for 24 months. And I would have agreed with you if it weren’t for what Sarah said about her mother. The way that she tells Emily and Mrs. Fields that her mother threw all of her things away seemed to be very blunt and a little too truthful, especially with the half hearted attempt at backtracking to cover up what she had just said. This not only keeps the women feeling sorry for her but it also makes them more inclined to not send Sarah back home and to let her stay with them longer. Maybe Sarah is working with A and has been tasked with getting in with Emily.

Or it could be that 5 seasons of this show has made me extremely paranoid person who does not trust new people.
