We still don’t know what’s in the friggin barrel. But there is still plenty of drama to be had in Rosewood and a whole mess of new people for the liars to be paranoid about.

Guess who’s back, back again. Holbrooke has returned to Rosewood after weeks away. But he claims that he was tied up with internal affairs, being investigated for inappropriate behavior and tampering with Allison’s lie detector test. After coming back and hearing that he has been suspended from duty Holbrook freaks out a little bit and ends up pulling Hannah over on the side of a dark empty road. What is it with the Marin women and dirty cops? First Ashley and Detective Wilden and now Hannah and Holbrook. This scene parallels the scene a few season’s ago where Ashley gets pulled over and threatened by Wilden. Later on he turns up dead. Is this some sort of foreshadowing for Holbrook? Or is it just a coincidence that these two scenes are so similar? We’ll see. And now that Holbrook seems to be off the hook for Allison’s accomplice he doesn’t have too much more use now, maybe it’s time to kill him off and make some more drama out of that. Seems like everybody is dropping dead around here anyways.

Spoby are officially on the rocks. A whole episode goes by with no sign of Toby. Spencer doesn’t even text or call him. But she is getting a lot closer with Johnny, otherwise known in my head as ‘barn guy’ since he is renting out the Hasting’s barn. Johnny is an artist, a free flowing, non-worrying fairly cute guy that Spencer seems to be being drawn to an awful lot lately. I think after Spencer’s jail scare she is a bit traumatized, I mean who wouldn’t be? All her life she has worked hard and planned for her future and almost having that taken away from her has made her look at what she really wants out of life. She always followed her parent’s plan for her. To live up to the Hastings’ name and make them proud, but almost being arrested for murder has made her really start to think that she needs to live her life for herself. So having someone like Johnny who has no responsibilities, who only lives for himself, and only does things that make him happy appeals to her. Now add to that the fact that her and Toby are constantly disagreeing about his job and what to do about A, and I think it all will ultimately lead to some type of love affair with Johnny. It may be fleeting, it may only be a thought, but it seems like the writers have brought Johnny in for a reason, and having Spencer hanging out with him so much last episode and not seeing her boyfriend at all has got me a little suspicious.

Johnny spent all episode working on an interactive art display for The Brew. It is a machine that is built to use a person’s own body (their arms and hands) as headphones, so that when someone else speaks into the microphone across the room it sounds like they are standing right next to the other person, whispering in their ear. So naturally Emily uses this machine to hit on the new cook. After Talia’s confession about her feelings for Emily last week Emily seems to be paying a lot more attention to her. She confides in Caleb that she keeps trying to figure out if Talia is flirting with her or not and if she even wants her to. Caleb and Em have an adorable bonding moment talking about girls and love and ultimately it seems like Emily makes up her mind because after she uses the whisper machine to tell Talia she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about what she said she grabs her and kisses her in the middle of The Brew.

I miss Mona. I love all of these flashbacks where we get to see Mona and Hannah’s friendship. Yes she was a little crazy and she tried to destroy and kill the liars but I have come to love Mona and I am still hoping that she is still alive. Leslie, Mona’s long lost friend comes into town to hang with Hannah and Mrs. Vanderwaal. Hannah keeps having flashbacks of her good times with Mona as she keeps an eye on Leslie, because in Rosewood an unexpected guest is someone to be suspicious of. The two discuss Mona’s mind and how she was always thinking, specifically discussing her collection of Edgar Allan Poe. Later Hannah finds one of Bethany’s session tapes hidden in the spine of the book. Could this be the reason that Mike was so upset that the girls had it? Is he the gloved hand at the end looking for the missing tape? Or could it possibly be Mona coming back for the evidence she left behind. It is seeming more and more likely that it is Mike and he is another one of Allison’s boy toys. But I am still holding out hope for a miraculous resurrection of Mona Vanderwaal.

When she isn’t stuck in the infinite scroll of tumblr, or reading endless amounts of fanfiction, she is marathoning her latest tv obsession. The only problem is, Shea’s television tastes are so expansive, none of her friends have ever heard of the shows she talks about. And she talks often and endlessly about her obsessions. So please for the sake of her friends and loved ones, come talk to her so she can tell you about all of her theories. Her Rants and Ramblings can also be found on her: Tumblr!
