Hart of Dixie 3×03 ‘Take This Job and Shove It’: Working hard and hardly working

In this weeks episode of Hart of Dixie, story lines were attempting to grow all over the place. I mean, I’m not complaining, this isn’t the most serious show. Last week was the best episode so far though. This episode seemed like somewhat of a filler, which happens a lot with these types of shows. Now, on to the actual episode…

Zoey wants to go back to work at Brick’s practice but he won’t budge, so she secretly starts helping people around Bluebell, but Brick finds out and here comes George, with all of his lawyer glory, to tell Zoey that legally can’t help people in Bluebell or start her own practice within 20 miles of Bluebell for year. I mean I guess. Why is Brick so upset about Zoey leaving anyways? He got the practice all to himself which is what he always wanted? Now, he has the opportunity to have Zoey work under him and he’s being a baby about? Really? Well, my thoughts were disqualified, because at the end of the episode, he agreed to let her work at the practice again.

Lavon and Brick want to open a minor league baseball park/team in Bluebell. The woman that they need to sign a team, went to college with Brick and has a crush on him. That wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that she is dull. Like, really dull. Well, Brick leaves mid-lunch and she gets hurt and doesn’t agree to let her team play in Bluebell. Things don’t stay down on this show for too long, I’m sure by the next episode, Bluebell will have a minor league baseball team.

Lemon and Annabeth start a ‘resistance’ against Cricket. Cricket walks in on “The Resistance” and marks her as disloyal and because of rebellion, she has to do different tasks like clean the graffiti at the Dixie Stop and repaint the town’s gazebo. Lemon does every task impeccably, except for her grand finale, quitting the Belles by spray painting I Quit on the Dixie Stop wall. I really like Lemon. Her character is a lot stronger and more tolerable now that she was in the first season.

Linley is still psycho and will not let up. This week, in crazy Linley news, she lays across George’s bed in lingerie (like a psycho). George comes out of the shower and sees her and he is not as happy as she thought he would be. After a little spat, Linley began to get dressed, but oops, her zipper got stuck. She asked George’s help. His hand gets stuck in the zipper, and he has no other choice to call Zoey to help because no one can find Linley and George in this awkward situation. Okay, there is not much else I can say about this whole Linley storyline, because if have read my previous reviews, I really don’t like her character. Can Lavon please come in and intervene already? This girl needs to be committed.

There is so much communication and no communication happening in Bluebell right now. There needs to be another town meeting or something. The characters are all over the place, or how I would say ‘OOCN'[Out of control, Nicole]. Not that they weren’t before, they were. All of Bluebell is comically insane. A lot seems to be happening with story lines this season and it’s only up to three episodes. I am interested to see where this season unfolds, and if Joel will actually stick around. Wouldn’t it a little bit too cliché is Zoey were to run back to the whole Wade/George issue on the season finale or something. I like Joel, as out-of-place as he is.

What did you guys think of this weeks episode? Yay or Nay?

She makes vlogs on the internet about nothing important in particular and watches an unhealthy amount of television. You will find her at work or school, secretly watching episodes of shows on Hulu & Netflix. When she’s not watching TV, she is reading cheesy smut and YA novels. I completely agree that Linley is crazy. As much as her hitting on George gets on my nerves, I love that it lets Scott Porter show off his comedic chops. Dude is funny! I think Zoe/Wade are endgame, but I do love Joel for now. Also, yay character development for Lemon! Great recap!
