Grey’s Anatomy 11×01 ‘I Must Have Lost it on the Wind’ : “What kind of buddy are you asking me to be?”

Oh hai!  How is everyone?  Did you have a fun summer break from all of your favorite shows or did you spend your time doing what I did, marathon rewatching in preparation for this season?  Oh, you did marathon watch…instead of, like, going swimming or hanging with friends or other summer crap that people do?  Good!  Me too!  In fact, I specifically rewatched “Grey’s Anatomy” in anticipation of this season, where we are down to just a few original cast members as I see them : Bailey, Grey, Weber, Karev, and Sheppard.  I was pretty much prepped and ready to go for the season premier which left me completely underwhelmed.  I finished the show and said, “Well that was sort a hot mess.”  To which my mom replied, “It was really nothing, right?”  I agreed.  It was really nothing, except for maybe one or two somethings.

Next week, I will probably get back to my usual format for these reviews.  But since not much of import happened this week, I won’t waste the space and paragraph breaks for one sentence each.  Instead, I just wanna do a basic rundown of the cast.  Yang is gone (and I die a little when I think of it), Boy Intern is gone, Blonde Intern is gone, and that’s it.  Not really sad about the weight of those forgettable interns.  Actually, I was pretty happy about trimming the fat of the cast except for how Sheppard’s sister and the mysterious and young (and black!) “Grey” joined this cast.  Ugh.  So we have : Arizona and Callie happy couple, Avery and Kepner happy and expecting couple, Grey and Sheppard discontent couple, Karev and Jo happy couple, Bailey and What’s-His-Name happy couple who are finally together and maybe will have some story lines, Edwards another forgettable intern who is still hanging on, Owen single and everyone is worried about it, Weber father of the hospital, Sister Sheppard taking over for Sheppard (maybe), and The New Grey the black sister.  Did I get everyone?

Umm…so I kind of love Grey and Karev as the new besties and it does make sense.  I rewatched every season but the last season (not on Netflix yet), and I see now how well Karev fits.  I hope they become the new “twisted sisters” or “persons”.  Arizona and Callie appear to be starting some drama because of possible fellowship (and maybe Gena Davis will have a recurring role?) and possible baby stuff…whatever.  Bailey is getting all Bailey and ready to start fighting Karev for the board seat.  Like, I totally wish I could care about Bailey’s story lines, but I just can’t.  I don’t really want to see her in a bossy board position where she will get all puffed up like a blow fish and stomp around being short with people.  I’m over it.  What else is there?  Oh yeah, GREY DRAMA!!!

Weber and Grey have had their rocky times, Grey has had to suffer through new family members and old family members and death and whatnot, and now we have yet another sister!  And this sister’s introduction to the show was to be a totally catty b*tch and pander for Grey’s attention before getting all butthurt and picking a fight with her.  Haven’t we done this before?  Why are people so desperate to like Grey and then so surprised when she’s kind of a jerk?  I’m just seeing another season of the Daddy Drama or Lexi Drama on repeat.  Haven’t we been there and done that?  Whatever.

I found this season premiere extra boring with a side of bland.  How about you?  Are you into the New Mystery Grey and all the drama it will bring?  Do you care if Callie and Arizona have another child?  Are you excited to get to know Bailey’s husband?  Did you catch the possibility of Gena Davis on the show?  Do you disagree with me?  Let me know in the comments!
