Gotham 1×19 ‘Beasts Of Prey’: 50 shades of nope, nope, nope

Yes! Enraged Gordon is back, and he ain’t sucking up to nobody! He don’t play no games! He throws the games out, and calls you on you B.S., Loeb. Gordon ain’t taking no prisoners, and he’s going to take that Ogre DOWN, which kind of makes me sad because Milo Ventimiglia is a beautiful man, amirite? Well, besides the whole Stepford-wife-serial-murder thing…

…But I’ve looked past worse character traits so, OGRE FOREVER!

How screwed up was this entire plot though? Like did Loeb honestly think that Jim would bow down to him that easily? He’s literally told the mayor to kiss his ass before; Jim does not play around no matter how much it costs.

That was probably what Loeb was hoping for, but that still won’t stop Jim from trying to win, as always, and to bring back some semblance of sanity in that godforsaken city.

And that is going to be kind of difficult because even Bruce is an accessory to murder in this episode. That was so wicked, and those two were portrayed perfectly in that scenario. Bruce, ever hesitant couldn’t bring himself to kill someone who could ruin his entire life. But Cat, ever impulsive, didn’t even need to think twice.

I’m not saying that killing a man didn’t effect her. She’s not a sociopath, even if she tries to stop caring, but she will go the extra mile that Bruce won’t, which leads her on the path that we know her so well in.

That scene alone just perfectly showcased the future for those two, and it was so cool to see.

What was also cool was the almost run-in between Bruce and Oswald. I loved how Oswald just stopped for a moment like he was having some strange déjà vu only to move on with his gangster dealings.

His scenes were disturbing as usual, although I don’t think anything will ever beat the AARP Fight Club in my eyes. He could murder the whole city, and that will still be (next to Liza’s death) the most disturbing thing I’ve seen on this show, which says a lot because this show is hella disturbing.

Like Dulmacher for instance. That guy is even more sadistic than Fish, which is a feat in and of itself because as we have seen that lady is no joke.

Although I don’t think she’s going to last much through the season, and I heard that the character might not come back for season two, but I really hope this won’t be Fish’s last fry.

I am glad that even though she screwed those other imprisoned people over, she did save the people who were already used and abused by the doctor. Fish might actually be a hero for once.

The only thing that’s bothering me a little is that while I know Dulmacher has played a role on the show before, I just don’t know how he connects to the rest of the season, or why Fish was taken to begin with. Maybe he has a deal with one of the Dons. I hope we see that connection soon, or it just makes her sub-plot a little confusing.

All in all, Gotham came back with a bang, and I’m sure the fast coming finale is going to be one hell of a ride.
