Faking it 2×19 ‘The Deep End’: They’re just nipples

Screen Shot 2015-10-27 at 6.16.00 PM

The fallout of the Thruple date comes full force after Karma and Shane take their walk of shame. Amy and Liam are both upset to find out that the threesome they thought for sure their best friends wouldn’t go through with did indeed happen.

Karma has gone off the deep end, and I’m not talking about the pool she falls into. I am talking about the erratic behavior she exhibits all episode. She is letting guys do body shots off of her, dancing on the table and not caring when Liam spills a drink on her thin white shirt causing it to go see through. You would think after the last party where Liam spilled a beer on her she would have started wearing a bra. Now Hester High knows exactly what Karma’s nipples look like. Amy has spent the night chasing after Karma and trying to be her voice of reason. Unfortunately Karma doesn’t want to listen to Amy or the little voice in her head that tells her maybe it’s not a good idea to get drunk and dance on a table with your nipples in plain sight of the entire party.

It is plain to see that this new party girl Karma is all an act. She is just trying to hide her pain. She explains this to Amy after she gets a slap of reality to the face in the form of a belly flop into the pool (since when did Amy and Lauren have a pool?). Amy dives in to save her, as she has been doing all night long, only this time Karma lets her. She explains that she sees Amy and Liam moving on and she is still there ‘sad, lonely, homeless Karma’. For a while she just wanted to be someone else. It is interesting that she phrased it this way. In what way is she upset that Amy is moving on? Is it because it makes her feel unwanted and unimportant because someone who once had romantic feelings for her is moving past them? Or is she upset in the same way that she is upset that Liam is moving on? I think she is still confused over the feelings she has been having for Amy and the jealousy she has been feeling over Amy’s feelings for Felix. Amy has even noticed that Karma’s whole attitude changed when she found out Amy was going to prom with Felix. The kiss that she gives Amy probably isn’t helping any of her confusion. It certainly is just adding to Amy’s confusion over Karma’s recent behavior. The question now is why did Karma kiss Amy? Amy was showering her with love, trying to make Karma see herself through Amy’s eyes. So was Karma just feeling lonely and reached out to the person that has always surrounded her with love and support? Or does she really posess some feelings for Amy?

Remember how we were talking about what Felix’s secret could be? Looks like he may have a substance abuse problem. He shows up to Amy’s house ready for their movie date to find a party in full swing. After Karma lets it slip that Felix is Principle Turner’s son Tommy and his goons make Felix prove he isn’t a rat by getting him good and wasted. Unfortunately the combination of the alcohol and the fear that Amy’s feelings for Karma outweigh her feelings for him end with him crashing his dad’s car into a fire hydrant. But it’s ok because he made it home with two minutes to spare!

Poor Lauren has gone through so much heartbreak this season. After the breakup with Tommy she finally found some happiness in Theo but that got ruined when his true identity came out. Now she has given him a second chance but is tired of having to hide their relationship. So she decides to try and move on and find happiness without him. After Tommy has shown that he is trying very hard to win back her trust, she decides to put a lot of it in him when she invites him over to have sex for the first time. As she tells Amy, she wishes her first time could be with Theo but since it can’t at least Tommy isn’t the worst choice. Except he is, because as she is literally climbing on top of him he reveals he is uncomfortable with the idea of having sex with her because she is intersexed. The second chance she gave Tommy has now ended with yet another heartbreak just like her second chance with Theo. Poor Lauren can’t catch a break.

Oh ya, and Liam’s tryst with Sasha ended as quickly as it began, and I the only thing I can think of is I hope this doesn’t mean the end to Lindsay Shaw on the show.

With only one episode left of the season, I’m sure we are in for a rollercoaster of emotions next week. Let’s hope it ends on a happy note unlike the last episode of season 1 where everyone was heartbroken and crying.
