Bachelor in Paradise 1×07 ‘Week 6’: The final rose

Thank God, Graham and AshLee broke up.  I think the entire audience collectively sighed in relief.  Halfway through the episode, the only couples left were Marcus and Lacy, Cody and Michelle, and Robert and Sarah.  Everyone else packed their bags and left.

These three remaining couples got to have overnight, fantasy suite dates.  And the thing is, I predicted Robert and Sarah’s demise.  I really just did not see the chemistry and Sarah seemed way more into him.  I wasn’t surprised when she dumped him the next morning because he fell asleep with his jeans on.

I was honestly appalled by all of the negative feedback that Sarah received because of this — people calling her a slut, telling her she just wanted to get laid, accusing her of making the wrong decision.  I, for one, think she was completely right: if a guy who supposedly likes you has the opportunity to be romantic with you and he doesn’t make a move, he’s just not that into you.  He did not make her feel loved and special, and she (along with all other women) deserve that.  It wasn’t about the sex, it was about the lack of intimacy — period.

So many people are out there defending Robert, but if he really just wanted to be a “good guy” and “wait until he was ready” he should have informed her of that instead of keeping her guessing.  It would have been a completely different scenario.  These are grown adults and they need to learn to communicate.  That’s what relationships are all about.

I personally think that Robert just wasn’t attracted to her and was trying to save face for the camera.  He denies the jeans thing, but I’m not sure why Sarah or anyone would make up something like that.  Either way, he didn’t deny the fact that he didn’t even spoon her.  I mean, come on — if you have a beautiful girl in your bed, wouldn’t you want to at least cuddle?

Anyway, I’m happy for Michelle and Cody, and Marcus and Lacy, who seem to still be together.  I hope that Sarah does find love, and that Robert learns to man up.  The end!
