Awkward. 3×19 ‘Karmic Relief’: Dead of night

A tremendous improvement. This episode actually made laugh, which is something that hasn’t happened in a while from Awkward. This episode saw returns from Becca and even Val. I very happy that this episode was an hour because there were so many things that needed to be done plot wise. Despite it being a little predictable, this was a massive improvement from this season. Since next week’s episode takes place immediately after this week’s, hopefully next episode will be just as great.

The performance of the week goes to… a tie between Ming and Becca. It’s been a long time since there has even been a performance worth mentioning. However, the exchange between Ming and Becca was hilarious. I love the way Becca says Ming’s name. I’ve really missed her character. I also love when Ming fired back at her saying her name in Chinese too. That is why it’s tie.

I glad Val got her job back. I’ve missed her misguidance.  At first, it was kind of annoying when Val was just cussing Jenna out. Although much deserved, it was too aggravating. I’m excited that Jenna and Val rekindled and are now friends again.

I knew that Mattie and Jenna weren’t going to get back together. The writers would not let Jenna get off that easily. I also predicted that Bailey and Mattie were going to go to prom together. The final scene where Mattie was talking to Jenna was very obvious. I predict on next episode that he will dance with Jenna on the dance floor, their eyes will meet (don’t make cry) and they’ll fall in love again.

Sadie’s story line is just stupid now. Now she is Twitter famous and getting sponsored? Come one now. Her trial scene wasn’t even funny. She was just really dramatic and a tad boring. Since the show is starting to get some positive momentum, I really hope they fix her character quickly.

Overall, I was really impressed with this episode. I have not said that in a while. I thought the performances were funny and good. I really hope it keeps up this streak of decent episodes. The episode ended with the dreaded “To be continued…” logo. For all who are reading, what do you think will “be continued?” What did you think of the episode as a whole?
